Student Wellness
La Vida offers high quality student wellness and engagement for all ages. We work with student wellness, student engagement/activites, and counseling centers from K-12, University, Medical Schools, etc.
Collaborating with your departments, our teachers offer events and classes for fun, like art, along with more wellness-focused activites such as meditation for anxiety or focus. We are set apart from what you may already be offering for several reasons:
- We offer over 10 types of Yoga and Meditation- all with their own specific benefits
- Along with our classes, our teachers are steeped in an authentic Yoga education that is rare to find on the market today
- Spirituality and philosophy is a large part of our work- we offer deep insight into the Yogic mentality, Vedic studies, and even Persian-Avestan philosophy
- Our Yoga classes range from beginner to advanced- perfect for those students already on their fitness journey
- La Vida offers both remote and in-person classes for student wellness- perfect for those students that can practice a quick insomnia meditation session before bed from the comfort of their bed
Some of the goals we frequently find students are facing are:
- Trouble focusing
- Low self-esteem
- Body image problems
- Weight loss and muscle growth (we all want the perfect body)
- Insomnia
- Relationship problems
School can be tough for students of all ages. The younger years are especially crucial as your students learn to cope and manage their life with new independence.
Wellness In Childhood
The younger years of education, from kindergarten to middle school, is a period of extreme flexibility of the brain. It is a time for children to prioritize their boundaries as well as dedication to their homework!
La Vida’s wellness programs are rooted in clinical validation of the clear fact that our services can provide a heuristic form of growth. You will enjoy significant changes in your student population beyond relaxation in the workplace.
According to UPMC (The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center):
“How Art Therapy Can Help Your Child
Making art can help:
- Cope with and accept the challenges of a diagnosis, treatment, and hospital stay.
- Enhance self-esteem and confidence.
- Reduce and manage stress, fear, pain, and other feelings around treatment, diagnosis, and hospitalization.
- Support decision making to regain a sense of control, including advocating for care.
- Stimulate and explore the mind and body.
- Connect with others and increase social skills.
The Art Therapy Process
We encourage kids to explore a range of art materials and create artwork to express themselves and their experiences and feelings.
While your child engages in the creative process, the art therapist offers support.
At times in a session, we may ask your child about his or her art-making process and artwork. Other times, we may only talk to you and your child, and not engage in the creative process.
Most often, both art-making and conversing will happen throughout the session.”
